N gauge “Okehampton” layout measures more than 4.5m x 0.6m. It breaks down into 5 parts, and depicts the scene of Okehampton quarry sidings and station, with the railway going off to Exeter. It runs on DCC, using NCE controllers. It has been displayed at our Exe Model Railway Exhibition, most recently in 2023.

00 gauge “Isca Road” layout was built by a group of club members when we first moved into our Heavitree club rooms. The layout is a large L-shaped 00 gauge (5.5m x 3.4m). At the top end there is a steam depot and goods yard, and a station with a turntable and four road fiddle yard traverser. A single track with branch line goes down to the bottom end of the layout with diesel depot sidings, and a station and four road fiddle yard traverser. The layout can run DC and DCC locos.

N gauge “Devon Branch Line” is a 1.2m x 0.8m layout that was donated to the club. It needed significant work doing and was upgraded and restored by a club member.

We are currently working on an additional 00 gauge layout, “New Parkers” a fixed 9.75m long 00 gauge runaround, with a figure of 8 upper to lower level pair of tracks, plus a lower level pair of tracks. There are control panels for each track on the layout, and can be run on DC or DCC. It has a MegaPoint system installed. Work is progressing on this layout. A considerable amount of ballasting has been done and we are currently working on platforms and station builds. One of our members has built a funicular railway to transport passengers to the upper country station. Development of both ends will progress in time.

The club also has a Hornby 3 rail layout after we were donated a lot of rolling stock and track. This is on an 2.4m x 1.21m board.
